Belturbet Trout Anglers' Club have carried out extensive improvements to the river in a three-quarter mile stretch upstream from Kilconny Bridge. The fishing is for wild and stocked trout. It is fly fishing only. There are reported to be other good stretches for trout fishing upstream and Cornadara, Pogue's Ford and Baker's Bridge.
