Multyfarnham is the nearest village to Donore Wood, the wood is situated on the southern shore of Lough Derravaragh (which is north of Mullingar) and has a rich natural and human history. Donore is home for many of our birds and wild animals. Badger, fox and grey squirrel are the more common species. The wood has a rich variety of wild plants found among the grasses and sedges.
