Mount Juliet Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus designed championship golf course set in a world of its own, on lush parkland in the south east of Ireland and only 20 minutes from Kilkenny. The course opened in 1991 with a match featuring golfing legends Christy O'Connor Snr and Jack Nicklaus. The beautiful and challenging Mount Juliet golf course has established itself as a premier golfing venue for top professionals and leisure golfers worldwide.

Chosen as the first and only Jack Nicklaus signature golf course in Ireland, the "Golden Bear" was meticulous and painstaking in his design and overseeing of the construction of his great creation. Feature holes on the course include the stunning third hole, a par three from an elevated tee to a green guarded by a natural stream and lake, one that golfers always remember. Also the par five, 10th hole, with its copse of trees, tests the golfers strategy. The final hole, a long par four with water all down the left and a narrow approach to the green, has decided many a tournament result.

The par 72, 7,300 yards layout boasts rolling fairways, many feature water hazards and contoured greens, all superbly blended into the spectacular setting of this famous old Irish estate. In preparation for the WGC - American Express Golf Championship that was held here in September 2002 and again in 2004, the Jack Nicklaus design team instigated some extensions and new features to the course, showing Mount Juliet's continued pursuit of golfing excellence. Other events at Mount Juliet Golf Club include the Irish Opens of 1993 to 1995, along with the Shell Wonderful World of Golf match between Tom Watson and Fred Couples in 1998. Mount Juliet is a destination every golfer wants to visit.
