relaxing walk of less than eight kilometers along the banks of the Royal Canal and through the hinterlands of historic Mullingar.
From Market House turn left up towards the railway station, at the Green Bridge, turn onto the southern side of the Royal Canal tow path. Keep walking along the canal until Kilpatrick Bridge which will be the second bridge you will come across. Cross over the bridge and return towards Mullingar along the other side of the canal. Soon after the first bridge you will meet, take the lane on your left onto Patrick Street, turn right and continue onto Oliver Plunkett Street, continue on this street all the way to Market House.
This is a day time walk.
