Nevilles, Fethard on Sea celebrated 100 years in business in 2010. The current business consists of a modern bar with restaurant upstairs and also the original old bar still in operation which dates back to the 1700’s.
Neville’s has positioned itself as the leading Gastro Pub in Wexford as recently recognised by the Restaurant association of Ireland. We are committed to using locally sourced food and produce wherever possible. We insure that all our meat is Irish and 100% traceable. Our fish is sourced from a Bridgestone award winning supplier.
We welcome and cater for families and visitors to the area. We provide a comfortable informal setting where you can enjoy the food and the atmosphere, and a chat with a local to find out more about the area. We can cater for family functions and private parties and our friendly staff are always willing to help and offer advice
We also offer customers the chance to step back in time and experience traditional hospitality in the original bar where it all began. Even through these straightened times Neville’s has continued to be a vibrant business through offering great food, excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere. This is in no small part due to our loyal customers who make Neville’s what it is today.
Neville’s has had a long and varied career in the service and hospitality industry.
The building where Neville’s Old Bar is now situated was established circa. 1761. Pre turn of the last century the structure was a hotel. The premises then came into the O’Connor/Neville family in 1910. When the O’Connor/Neville family took over in 1910 the business consisted of a Grocery, Drapery, Hardware Store, Post Office and Bar. It had a large staff some of whom lived in the premises along with the family.
In November 2003 the Front Bar, a traditional Irish Pub was refurbished using salvaged wood from a convent school in Ferrybank, Co. Waterford. The counter is from the science labs complete with gas taps which we retained. In late 2004 after receiving a good response from our customers, refurbishment plans were drawn up for a more extensive development. A two storey Bar & Restaurant was built in the place where the house stood on the street. Work began in September 2006 with the new bar opening on June 14th 2007 and the following year on June 18th we began serving excellent bar food. In July 2009 1170 Bistro style Restaurant opened at Neville’s, Fethard on Sea.
