The extensive gardens in Ballinkeele alone would impress anyone but for the true garden enthusiast the house is also perfectly situated to visit and tour a huge variety of open gardens in and around the area.The Gardens are set on an old estate, the two walled gardens have been gradually brought back into use, one part as a productive kitchen garden and the other as a flower garden. Mature trees and rhododendrons form the backdrop for the woodland walk around the lake and through the parkland. There are two walled gardens which are gradually being brought back into use. One is planted with roses, shrubs and perennials and the other is a productive garden with old apple and plum trees as well as vegetables.
Entrance Fee: €5.00
Opening Times: 1st Friday, Saturday and Sunday of every month from May to September 2pm – 5pm, or by appointment
