Crawford Municipal Art Gallery welcomes over 200,000 visitors a year to this hub of culture, which offers free admission to both the gallery and exhibitions.
The Gallery’s permanent collection comprises over 2,000 works, ranging from 18th century Irish and European paintings and sculptures, through to contemporary video installations.
One of the Gallery's focal points is a a collection of Greek and Roman sculpture casts, brought to Cork in 1818 from the Vatican Museum in Rome. Irish art, from the 19th and early 20th century, is another of the Gallery's main attractions.
Visting exhibitions, featuring the work of major and emerging artists, are frequently hosted.
Crawford Municipal Art Gallery is funded through the City of Cork Vocational Education Committee.
