Kinnegar Brewing

Republic of Ireland

Kinnegar Brewing was established in 2011 in a tiny pilot facility by Rick LeVert and Libby Carton. Its first beers, Limeburner and Devil's Backbone, quickly became a feature on the emerging craft beer landscape in Ireland. In 2013 the brewery expanded into a purpose-built 10HL facility tucked cleverly into the existing farmhouse environment where Libby grew up. Today the brewery produces five beers in its regular rotation as well as a range of once-off special brews.

Visits to the brewery offer enthusiasts a complete overview of the brewing process, beginning in the malt loft and continuing through the brew house, the fermentation process, the conditioning cellar, and finally to packaging. All of this in a uniquely compact space!

The tour helps guests appreciate the influence that different malts, hops and yeast have on the flavour profile and general character of individual beers. Tour participants receive a token for a free beer at The Taproom in the cellar of nearby Rathmullan House. Kinnegar is an operating production facility and its visitor amenities are correspondingly limited. We offer parking and WC in addition to a wealth of information and experience of beers and brewing.
