Sligo County Library, located on Stephen Street in Sligo Town, has a range of services and resources available for members of all ages in the community to use.

Sligo County Library endeavours to provide a responsive, accessible and inclusive library service to meet all their customers needs. In addition to full adult and children's browsing sections, staff can assist in sourcing stock from around the country through a shared library catalogue.

While reading and borrowing continue to be the heart of all public libraries, the library also provides many additional services including free membership, audiobooks, DVDs, book collections for book clubs and schools, no fines for late books, activities and events for both children and adults, newspapers and a comfortable seating area. They also offer c-pen readers for adults and children with reading difficulties, Sense-Ability services for people with sensory or additional educational needs, home energy kits, citizen science kits and a school library service.

Sligo County Library has free internet access, five computers for public use, printing, 3D printing, photocopying and scanning facilities. Free digital services include digital magazines and newspapers with Libby and PressReader, eBooks and eAudiobooks with Borrowbox, online learning with Universal Class and Transparent Language.

Part of the Sligo County Library service and just a short walk from Sligo Central Library to the Westward Town Centre on Bridge Street, is Sligo County Local Studies and Archive. The aim of the Local Studies and Archive is to collect, organise and make available historical materials relating to County Sligo and its people.
