John Roberts, the architect behind Waterford’s splendid Christ Church Cathedral, designed St Iberius Church in Wexford Town. The Anglican house of worship was built in the 18th century and features a late-Georgian style interior and 19th-century Venetian Renaissance exterior.The architect:The architect for St Iberius Church was John Roberts, he was born in Waterford in 1712. His father was a local builder It is believed that he was partially trained as an architect in London. In 1746 John Roberts was requested by Bishop Richard Chenevix to complete the new Bishop's Palace, also Christchurch Cathedral, and City Hall in Waterford city.The church is also famed for its superb acoustics, and is an occasional venue for concerts.
