Smithwicks Experience Kilkenny opened to the public in July 2014 and was recently listed in ‘New in Travel’ one of the top 26 hottest new attractions in the world to visit in 2015 by The Lonely Planet. Smithwick’s is Ireland’s most popular ale and visitors are brought on an interactive journey through over 300 years of history.

All tours are fully guided by a local tour guide and complimentary audio guides are available in French, German, Spanish and Italian at no extra cost. Visitors will learn how our famous ale is made and at the end of the tour all visitors over the age of 18 will be given a complimentary pint of Smithwicks. Families and groups are also most welcome with visitors under 18 receiving a complimentary soft drink at the end of the tour.

Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny is located in the heart of Ireland's Medieval Mile in Kilkenny city and Ireland’s Ancient East and is just a 5 minute walk from Kilkenny Castle. The retail store at Smithwicks experience Kilkenny has a number of Smithwicks products that are exclusive to the store and cannot be purchased elsewhere.
