The Shannon View, Bed & Breakfast, in the village of Kildysart in Co Clare, has been run by local man John Cahill and his family for ten years.
Kildysart is located in County Clare between the towns of Ennis and Kilrush. It is known as the ‘Fishermans Haven’ and is a scenic village overlooking the many islands dotted around the Shannon estuary.
All three of the Shannon View B&B apartments are self catering. Each apartment comprises of a kitchen/dining area, a living room, bathroom and one or two bedrooms. The apartments are fully furnished with kitchen wear, bed linen, towels, washing machine, tumble dryer, television and electric storage heaters.
In the village of Kildysart there are shops, pubs, supermarkets, banks and an 18th Century Catholic Church. Within a short drive of Shannon View B&B there are numerous famous attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren National Park, the town of Ballyvaughen, the Ailwee Caves, the village of Doolin and the beautiful beaches of Fanore, Lahinch and Kilkee. The Killimer Car Ferry, which takes visitors across the Shannon Estuary to Co Kerry, is only a 20 minute drive from Kildysart.
For golfers there are well renowned golf clubs nearby such as Kilrush, Kilkee, Ennis, Lahinch and Shannon. Or if fishing is your thing, there is lake fishing at Gort Glass Lake only three kilometres from the village and shore angling on the Estuary, where you could hook yourself a dogfish, congor or bullhuss.
Shannon View B&B can accommodate visitors all year round including the Christmas season.
