Getting Around

By Bike

There’s nothing like the freedom of two wheels. However, most of us don’t think of using the humble bike as a way of getting around when we’re taking a break in Ireland, unless we’re actually on a cycling holiday.

You may not realise it, but now it’s possible to rent a bike in almost any town or city in Ireland. Click here to find out more. And Dublin City Council provide rental bikes across the capital.

Plain and simple, cycling is a great way to get around fast, cut your transport costs (not to mention CO2 emissions), and see all the sights and views on offer. Think of it as your own private hop on and hop off tour, where you decide the route and the attractions you see.

To make it easier for you, cities all around the country are developing more and more cycle tracks and some, like Dublin, are even helping with route planners and cycle track maps.
