If you love to walk, even when you’re on your holidays you’ll be looking for great routes where you can step it out. Well, look no further, the following list of looped walks give details on the scenery, history and nature along each route. When you click on each individual walk, you’ll get a detailed description of the route, including length, what the terrain is like and whether you could tackle it in your runners or should really be in boots with ankle support. You’ll also see details on historical artefacts to look out for, or wildlife that might cross your path.

Dublin

Lower Cliff Path LoopThis fine coastal walk is just a few miles from the centre Dublin

Glinsk Castle LoopA comfortable and very pleasant hillwalk, full of contrasts and great views.


Meath and Louth

Girley Bog LoopThe walk is suitable for all, and a wonderful way to introduce children to the magic

Barnavave LoopThis route has only one rough section, and is suitable for fit hillwalkers.


Cork

Creha Quay LoopWalk on side roads and along a beautiful meandering Atlantic shoreline.

Sheep's Head Lighthouse LoopWalk takes you around the tip of the head, along sea-sprayed clifftops.

Cronin's LoopKerry mountain range called the Macgillicuddy Reeks includes Carrauntoohil.

Beentee LoopWalk is combined with rough and boggy stretches on Beentee hill.

Glanageenty LoopA pleasant walk through a variety of surroundings.

Druid's LoopWalk can be boggy and wet in places but is suitable for all.

Torc Waterfall LoopKillarney circuit involves a climb up a long stone staircase.
