With so much to choose from, everyone’s favourite part of Ireland will probably be different. Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains? The Cooley Peninsula? What about the unique karst landscape of the Burren?
Some pick famous sights, like the Twelve Bens in Connemara. Others prefer lesser known marvels like the Owenduff bog in Ballycroy National Park, one of the last active bog systems in Western Europe.
Some favourites are natural, like Slieve League (the highest sea cliffs in Ireland); others a link between nature and humans, like Newgrange, a site older than the Pyramids.
It could be a whole area, like the Copper Coast in Waterford, one of only two UNESCO geoparks on the island of Ireland, or a route like the Ring of Kerry.
Others find it underground – in the Mitchelstown Caves – or in the clouds, at the top of Carrantouhill.
