This September in Cork, enjoy over 200 fantastic, free and family-friendly events and activities as Culture Night 2017 is officially launched. Cork is a city steeped in culture and talent, and to celebrate this amazing event, young, old, and in-between are invited to take part in everything from live music, theatre and film to art exhibitions, crafts and street performance - all totally free.
With such a wealth of inspirational and historical resources in Cork City, this showcase of the vast cultural spectrum of the city will be nothing short of spectacular.
For film buffs, the Cork City Hall will undoubtedly be the place to be; witness the amazing transformation of the venue’s Concert Hall into a cinema for the night, and enjoy a special screening of the eagerly-awaited movie Maze. Inspired by the true events of the infamous 1983 prison breakout of 38 IRA prisoners from HMP, this fantastic film features Ireland’s own Tom Vaughan Lawlor, best known for his role as Nidge in the RTÉ One series Love/Hate. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Director Stephen Burke and the cast and crew.
