Féile na Tuaithe

19 - 20 May 2012
Venue: Castlebar, Co Mayo

Féile na Tuaithe will not be taking place during 2012, due to unforeseen circumstances.

Féile na Tuaithe, now in its seventh year, is regarded as one of the best weekends in the West. Last year, the free, fun-filled, family festival, attracted over 25,000 visitors.

Féile na Tuaithe celebrates all that is good about country life, and provides a weekend of non-stop activities and entertainment for all ages to enjoy.

The Westport Beekeepers' Federation of Ireland is new to the festival this year, and is sure to add quite a buzz to the two-day event. Also featuring in this year's line up are family favourites including the Fanzini Brothers, Mayo Concert Orchestra, Sean nós dancers, along with thrilling displays from the West of Ireland Spaniel Club and Eagles Flying.

Traditional craft demonstrations in the art of blacksmithing, basket making, wood turning, pottery, harvest-knot making, to name but a few, run throughout the days. And, to celebrate the Year of the Craft, the programme has a wonderful range of artisan craft producers from all over Ireland. For the tasty treats, there is a dedicated tented area where visitors can sample and buy quality food from Irish producers.
