The Band Festival

23 - Sunday 25 June 2017
Venue: Dunfanaghy

The Band Festival wants to get a crowd of music lovers together to spend a weekend in the gorgeous Donegal village of Dunfanaghy listening to some of the finest bluegrass and Nashville-tinged country music ever to hit these shores.

Dunfanaghy is already a destination in its own right, but this festival intends on showing off its cultural gifts; local people with artistic passions and unbelievable logistical talents will be organising this fabulous festival.

You will traverse one of the most beautiful stretches of the Wild Atlantic Way as you check out gigs in churches, hotels, pubs and coffee shops in the shade of the Muckish Mountain.

Tickle your ears with the sounds of local bluegrass-tinged bands like Erdini and Woodbine and The Dirty Beggars, from Scotland. The music of the American south will be performed by Cathryn Craig, who hails from Virginia and has worked with some of the most significant co-authors of the Great American Songbook, like the Righteous Brothers.

Enjoy cosy and intimate gigs in one of the most beautiful places in the world at the Band Festival, a Nashville-inspired, but truly Irish, festival.
