Whale Watch Ireland 2017

Saturday Saturday 26 August 2017
Venue: Clogher Head

The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group invite you to their free annual event, a guided walk along Clogher Head to some of the most promising spots for spotting whales and dolphins. It's all part of the All-Ireland Whale Watch Day on Saturday 26th August, and Heritage Week, which will see free, fun events for all the family taking place nationwide.

If you've ever wondered whether that dark speck out to sea was something more than a seabird drifting on the waves, the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group are the experts who can tell you what to look for. And while there are no guarantees of sightings, given reasonable weather you stand a good chance of seeing some of the species that inhabit the local waters during certain times of year.

Dress for changeable weather and bring snacks, your binoculars, and a sense of adventure as you try to spot some of our most famous off-shore visitors.
