Found in the heart of the Irish countryside, Fairymount Farm is a family-run farm that offers three self-catering cottages for travellers visiting Ballingarry, County Tipperary. The accommodation sits on the 180-hectare property, which boasts horses, sheep, walks, a private lake, fishing, archaeological sites and much more.
The Old Cottage is more than 200 years old. It has been renovated to the highest standard of comfort while retaining its main features and original character. This wheelchair accessible cottage can sleep four to six people. It has two main bedrooms (one double ensuite and one twin room) and a third with twin beds in the open-style gallery upstairs. There is an additional bathroom with shower, WC and handbasin. The sitting room and kitchen have an open plan and contain wood/turf-burning fire, electric cooker, halogen hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage has its own garden and patio area with table and chairs. All linen and towels are provided free.
While staying at Fairymount Farm, guests can visit Moneygall, the ancestral home of Barack Obama. They can enjoy a round of golf at one of the many nearby courses, including Birr, Nenagh and Roscrea. For walking enthusiasts, there’s the Slieve Bloom and Silvermines mountains to explore, and for equestrians there are excellent riding schools and trekking centres nearby. Locally there are numerous cinemas, shopping centres, children’s playgrounds, leisure centres, spa lodges and more.
