Inchiquin House is an elegant Georgian period home romantically tucked away near Corofin in County Clare. The house is not far from the Atlantic Ocean and is the perfect base for exploring the unique Burren landscape, historic sites and the county’s many leisure activities. These include golf, fishing, riding, walking and, of course, visiting the lively local pubs.
Inchiquin House, which is more than 200 years old, has been in the Macnamara and Harbison families for several generations. It stands on a working farm of more than 40 hectares, reached by an avenue nearly a kilometre long. A small storage building in the garden has been converted into a children’s playhouse.
The renowned Inchiquin House exudes old-country charm. It comfortably accommodates 10 guests in five bedrooms, including three king rooms and two twin rooms. There is a porch, cosy drawing room, elegant dining room and kitchen fitted with cooking-school grade facilities.
Inchiquin offers cookery courses and can arrange archaeological and botanical excursions. The estate also serves as an idyllic location for a wedding or corporate event with up to 200 people.
The house is rented weekly on a self-catering basis throughout the year.
