Killarney town itself is a lively hub of activity, with many restaurants, pubs, discos, along with outlets for renting bikes, cars and the famous jaunting cars (horse and cart)! If you prefer motorised vehicles instead of horses, the hostel is a great base to use to tour around the Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula and Dingle Peninsula.

Located beside the Killarney Hostel mansion is "The Lodge" which sleeps 40 people in ten, four bed dorm rooms. This is ideal for groups, especially when you want the place to yourself!!
Killarney Hostel aims to run the hostel in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Most of the waste is recycled or composted. Killarney Hostel is continually trying to reduce its carbon footprint and recently became members of Green Hospitality.
