Situated in the village of Dooega on the south west side of Achill Island in County Mayo, Lavelle’s Seaside House is registered with Fáilte Ireland, the AA and the RAC.
Lavelle's was established in 1952 and offers a 14 bedroom guesthouse with a fully licensed bar serving food during the summer season. All 14 rooms are ensuite and five of which are new with wonderful views over the village and the sea. There are single and double rooms as well as family rooms available.
The public bar, or Mickey’s as the locals call it, is where everybody meets. It’s your typical small village/country pub where locals and visitors mingle, people make arrangements for tomorrow and discuss the real issues of the day like the weather, the day’s fishing, the hay, the turf and football. And occasionally it’s rounded off with an impromptu singsong.
There's loads to do on Achill such as swimming, walking, golf, angling, board and windsurfing, painting holidays, archaeological studies or simply appreciating the breathtaking scenery and the sites of local historical interest such as the Deserted Village at Slievemore.
