Their mission statement is simple; ‘We wish to provide memorable experiences of yoga in nature, healthy and nourishing food, fresh air and kinship in beautiful locations.’ Their idea is to bring small groups of retreaters together to connect with nature, each other and themselves.
The founders of Retreat Yourself, Caroline and Tanya, are a qualified yoga practitioner and a qualified chef . On the Kilkee Strand retreat, the day starts off with participants meeting on the beach. They will have a stretch with Caroline before heading out into the bay on SUP Boards or kayaks. Then it's back to the beach for yoga and a specially prepared homemade vegan picnic from Tanya. The two hosts believe that this four hour retreat appeals to anybody who likes water sports and having fun on the water, combined with gentle yoga and good food.
Each of their retreats have a similar basis; a stretch session with Caroline, an activity based on the location, followed by some homemade treats by Tanya, and wrapping up with a wind down session with Caroline. All of this will leave you relaxed and refreshed and ready to go back out into the world again. Activities available include walking, hiking, swimming, meditation and mindfulness, paddleboarding or kayaking and even a Burren walk.
Retreat Yourself currently have retreat locations in County Clare including Ballyportry Castle in Corofin, Gortglass Lake in Kildysart, Cliffs of Moher, Kilkee Strand and Vandeleur Gardens in Kilrush.
