Mitchelstown Food Festival & Awards is a free one-day artisan food festival. Highlights include a food market with over 30 artisan food producers on-hand to represent, promote and showcase their food, and their stalls will provide visitors with a range of delicious local Irish foods to choose from throughout the day. Cookery demonstrations will take place by food producers and chefs on how to use the best of artisan Irish foods with a focus on the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients that are produced sustainably. There will also be a range of food production demonstrations on how food is made.
Other exciting events include a food trail in a number of Mitchelstown outlets, where festival goers can sample local artisan food and The Food Producers Award 2012. The kids won't be left out either - there will be a dedicated kid's area with bouncy castles and other activities in the green area outside of the Kingston Arms Hotel.
