Valentia Island King Scallop Festival 2013 is a family fun weekend on this unique island off the Kerry coast.
A key ingredient to the success of the Valentia Island King Scallop festival is the diversity of events taking place ... fun and entertainment is central. The festival is for all ages and for people from all walks of life. Festival highlights this year include a junior triathlon, rugby blitz, cricket match, craft fair & country market, cooking demonstrations, an angling competition, a display by the Coastguard helicopter & the Valentia Island RNLI Lifeboat, blessing of the local fishing boats, live street music and of course crowning of this year's Mr. King Scallop and new to 2013 the crowning of Ms Queen Scallop! Additional events will be added.
The weekend is a wonderful opportunity to welcome home all our overseas family and friends as part of The Gathering 2013.
