A Face In The Crowd

04 January - Wednesday 4 April 2018
Venue: Smock Alley Theatre - Main Space

A Face in the Crowd, directed by Jim Roche, is based on actual accounts of individuals who have come face-to-face with mental health difficulties in their own lives. It will explore stories of darkness, hope, confusion, humour, friendship, resilience and recovery.

A series of storytelling workshops formed the basis for the play adding which gives the words a striking authenticity. By doing so, A Face In The Crowd is both an educational and empathetic experience.

The theme is pertinent as the play takes place as part of the First Fortnight Festival, which takes place in the first two weeks of January each year, with the aim of raising awareness of and overturning stigmas about mental health.
