Artist Residency Róisín de Buitléar

01 January - Monday 31 December 2018
Venue: The National Museum - Decorative Arts & History

Irish artist Róisín de Buitléar has been selected as the Artist-in-Residence for the National Museum of Ireland for 2018.

Hailing from Dublin, de Buitléar is Ireland’s foremost glass artist, and has been working in that medium for over 30 years. Her work has been exhibited across Europe, the United States, and in China and Japan.

The residency is based in the Decorative Arts and History department of the National Museum on Benburb Street, and as a part of it, an exhibition, entitled CAUTION! Fragile Tradition in Transit, will be displayed at the National Museum from the 8th March. CAUTION! is a collaborative work that has seen de Buitléar work with three Irish master glass cutters from Waterford.

De Buitléar will have a studio onsite for the entirety of 2018, with a number of public engagement events planned for the year.
