FAKE

02 March - Sunday 3 June 2018
Venue: Science Gallery Dublin

Science Gallery Dublin in Trinity College will host a new exhibition called FAKE for three months this spring.

The question of authenticity is one that is central to Western culture. Why does it remain important, and why is something that is considered natural, real, or genuine considered to be better than something constructed, mimicked, or copied?

These are the kinds of philosophical questions that this exhibition will deal with things like DNA, chemical signatures, copyrights, patents, and forgeries all being explored by the works in the installations and exhibitions contained in FAKE.

As with any of the Science Gallery’s exhibitions, there are also a plethora of events throughout the three months of the show, and all the exhibition is geared towards being friendly for all the family to explore technology, science, and how they work out in the world.
