Let The Right One In

20 November - Saturday 20 January 2018
Venue: Abbey Theatre

Let the Right One In began life as a Swedish vampire novel - however, don’t let your mind drift off to the world of Twilight; Let the Right One In was dark and thematically anxiety inducing, tackling divorce, absenteeism, alcoholism, bullying, paedophilia, genital mutilation and murder.

The narrative is based around Oskar, a morbid 12 year old boy who, despite his mother’s love, seems irretrievably drenched in darkness.

He befriends the girl next door, Eli, who reveals herself to be a vampire.

And thus the scene is set.

This irresistibly shadowy staging of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel will have your nervous stomach contorting as the themes are drawn out in a dramatic, bloody fashion.

This gruesome Scandi-noir, vampiric tale will stay with you long, long after the curtain falls at the Abbey Theatre.
