Rhododendron Walking Festival

The Rhododendron Walking Festival will feature a host of walks across the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Based in Clogheen, County Tipperary, the festival features walks that are suitable for the entire family, walks that explore the history and heritage of the surrounding area, as well longer walks that will test experienced hikers.

The Friday night features a heritage walk around Clogheen, followed by refreshments and entertainment. Saturday offers walks exploring the Knockmealdown Way, a 34 kilometre trail from Ballyporeen to Newcastle with three walks of differing lengths for differing abilities.

Sunday offers long and short “Rhododendron Walks” for and hour and a half and three hours respectively, with entertainment provided by the Retrophonics in the evening at the Clogheen Community Centre.

Monday is family day with a free family walk from Goatenbridge Community Hall to Kildanogue duck ponds, as well as a lift back by bus.
