The Shindig in the Centre

Sunday Sunday 11 March 2018
Venue: Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre

Each year, the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre in Drogheda hosts a céili and set dancing session in the lead-up to St Patrick’s Day.

The day starts off with a special St Patrick’s week menu being served in the Tea Rooms. The menu features a load of traditional Irish favourites such as Irish stew and bacon and cabbage.

After lunch, Shay White will be the Fear an Tí and lead the dancing for the afternoon. The céili is suitable for all comers so if you have forgotten the steps – or never even knew them – no fear, because you’ll soon be dancing along with the veterans.

For kids, there will be a special visit from the man of the hour himself, St Patrick, to hand out some sweet and tell some great stories about his life and works. A treat for all the family!
