Wicklow Walking Festival

27 - Monday 30 October 2017
Venue: Wicklow Mountains National Park

Wicklow’s hills and mountains make for the perfect challenge for any tenacious walker; it’s the garden of Ireland, home to beautiful flora, fauna and awe-inspiring views.

With easy, moderate and strenuous hikes, there is something to get walkers of every level off of the sofa and into the hills during the Wicklow Walking Festival.

You can, if you’re feeling tough enough, walk the circuit of Glendalough, which has an 820m ascent. If you are looking for something a little less tough, try the easy-modern 12km walk around Trooperstown and Paddock Hill. Intermediate walkers will have loads to choose from including a night hike down the Green Road, a trek through Cullentragh Mountain, and an opportunity to see the burgeoning wildlife in the Vale of Clara Nature Reserve.

Get your walking gear out for this brilliantly active festival, and see the Wicklow countryside from the most flattering angles as you trek its hills and mountains.
