Charmingly framed within a picturesque valley between the village of Stradbally and the town of Athy, Ballintubbert has a rich history in the heart of County Laois. Built in 1725, the main house is a fine example of early Georgian domestic architecture and has wonderful literary and theatrical associations.
Now available on an exclusive rental basis, indoors guests are treated to five double occupancy bedrooms that are brimming with character including the chinoiserie sitting room and map room; the dining room with its original fireplace and seating for up to 20 people. The kitchen and laundry room has all modern conveniences and a private bar.
For larger parties, additional accommodation is available in the garden wing with five double occupancy bedrooms and a beautifully appointed self-contained apartment.
The gardens are complete with a mirrored lake that has been described as an enchanting work of art, intimate and extraordinarily peaceful.
In the long Meadow there are six Mongolian yurts available as one letting for 12 friends and family. These are available from April to September. The yurts provide the combined comforts of a bedroom with the joys of sleeping outdoors. Wake up the birds singing and the gentle illumination of morning light. Each Yurts are equipped with double beds, heaters, lighting and electric outlets. Ablution facilities are a short stroll away. Linen and Towels are included. Kitchen facilities are provided in the rustic Tabarnacle barn.
