Clifden Farmhouse is located just a five minute walk from Clifden town yet is set in the peaceful countryside. On arrival Mary, the owner of this family run B &B, gives you a good Irish Welcome with tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat in the guest lounge. The lounge is a bight spacious room where you can relax, admire the view, watch TV, avail of the free WiFi or flick through the brochures and information on the surrounding area and activities. It is a quiet location with plenty of safe parking.
Clifden, the capital of Connemara, is set in the valley of the inspiring 12 Ben Mountains only 1 km from the sea and the beautiful rugged coastline. Clifden Farmhouse is located in an ideal location with a wide variety of activities close by (15 – 30 mins for all listed) - walking, hiking, horse-riding, a beautiful 9 Hole Golf Course and many stunning beaches. The list of attractions is a long one but of particular note is the infamous Sky Road Drive with unparalleled views of the sea and the small, now uninhabited, islands. Other worthwhile attractions include Dan O’Hara’s Homestead, the Diamond Hill in the centre of Connemara National park and of course the renowned Kylemore Abbey.
Clifden town itself is a lively spot and home to many excellent restaurants where you can avail of the fresh seafood. There are many friendly local pubs with traditional Irish music most evenings and a number of colourful boutiques and shops selling everything from souvenirs to designer clothes.
