Welcome to Croagh Patrick Hostel. A new accommodation gem in Clew Bay it is a fabulous new purpose built hostel, located at the foot of Croagh Patrick Mountain in the picturesque village of Murrisk, 7km from the bustling town of Westport. The perfect base to climb Croagh Patrick Mountain and beautifully positioned along the Wild Atlantic Way overlooking Clew Bay. It is also a great base to cycle the Great Western Greenway…. there are plans to extend the Greenway Cycle route from Westport through Murrisk Village out to Bertra Strand in the near future.

The fantastic facilities at Croagh Patrick Hostel include stunning bright, comfortable and spacious ensuite dorms and family rooms of various sizes and capacity (sleeping from 3 beds to 12 beds). Lockable under bed storage containers available in each dorm, extras shower and toilet suites available on both floors, wheelchair accessibility, reception, self-catering kitchen, dining room, lounge with a stove fire, drying room, meeting / games room, patio area with views of Croagh Patrick and ample car parking. Continental breakfast included. Free WiFi. Drink and sweets vending machines on premises. Towel rental and laundry facilities available.

The hostel can accommodate individuals, couples, and families, large and small groups. It is the ideal base for walking or hiking, sporting, team building and bonding groups, Transition Year, College, mediation & relaxation, religious, army training, scout, family gatherings and parties.

Croagh Patrick Hostel is also ideally situated to explore the South West of Mayo, Connemara and the islands of Clare Island and Inishturk. Walkers and hikers will relish the many walks in the area (including the loop walks, beach walks, Croagh Patrick Mountain, Mweelrea Mountains etc). Croagh Patrick Hostel is located at the final stop of the Tochar Phadraig Walk (Ballintubbber Abbey to Croagh Patrick 35km) and also the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail (Balla to Croagh Patrick 61km).

Croagh Patrick Hostel promise to offer guests a warm welcome together with very comfortable and stylish accommodation at great rates! Food Packages i.e. Lunches & Dinners for groups can be organised through an outdoor caterer adventure activities and bike hire booking facility available. Taxi/mini bus hire available upon request (outside contractor). Pick-up/Drop-off Service from Train or Bus Station available at a small fee. Bus Drop off & Pickup stops directly outside the hostel (daily service however infrequent times).

There are an abundance of other activities and attractions in the immediate and surrounding areas. Locally, you can explore Murrisk Abbey – a mid-15th century Abbey built by the Augustinian Friars. Murrisk Village is also the home to the National Famine Memorial, called The Famine Ship, by John Behan – which commemorates the Great Famine of the 1840’s.
