Glasha is located between the Comeragh and Knockmealdown mountains which are a walker’s paradise. There are wonderful knowledgeable guides and maps available for a day’s hiking. There are also plenty of loop walks from Glasha House where one can enjoy beautiful scenery and listen to the sound of the birds and nature on your way. It is a great place to enjoy the Nire Valley Comeragh Mountains Bogtrot in Spring or the Nire Valley Walking Festival in Autumn. Cycling is particularly popular in the area and there are lots of lovely quiet country roads to explore. There are several cycling events in the area including the The Sean Kelly tour in August which attracts amateur cyclists to join in this two day event. For the golf enthusiastic there is a choice of eight 18-hole golf courses within 30 minutes drive from the house. The rivers Nire, which is adjacent to Glasha and Suir and Blackwater are close by for those interested in spending a day casting for brown trout. We are lucky to have a wonderful instructor nearby with his own fishing shop which stocks just about everything. Summertime is a great time to visit Glasha as there are lots of festivals and events going on such as the Waterford Festival of Food, Feile na nDeise, Dungarvan, Glen of Aherlow Walking Festival, Immrama, The
