Macalla Cottage Gweedore is a four star self-catering traditional cottage. It is situated in the picturesque village of Crolly in Gweedore on the Wild Atlantic Way. The cottage nestles between the mountains and the sea, in County Donegal. Macalla Cottage will help visitors unwind and drift back in time by relaxing in front of the cosy open fire.

This romantic cottage, which once featured in the property section of the New York Times, has retained its old world charm while at the same time affording guests the comfort and luxury of modern day homes. It has recently featured in the travel section of the Guardian newspaper. Meticulously renovated by the owner and his son in a labour of love it now boasts an ensuite master bedroom and spacious dining room. The original flagstone floors in the sitting room and dining room together with the open turf fire create a quaint and inviting atmosphere

The cottage consists of three bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen with all modern conveniences including dishwasher and microwave, a spacious dining room and relaxing sitting room. The dining room has a patio door leading through to a private garden.

Gweedore has a range of outdoor activities and breath taking scenery plus great bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Macalla Cottage is located close to shops, restaurants, petrol station, hotels and leisure centre and is within walking distance to Leo's famous singing pub and restaurant. The area is ideal for walking, whether you like to walk in the mountains or on the miles of sandy beaches. For day trips you can visit Glenveagh National Park and gardens, Dunlewey Lakeside Museum and Restaurant, Dunlewey Lake, golf courses, Slieve League sea cliffs, the Famine Workhouse in Dunfanaghy, Derry City and Letterkenny Town. Or for a real adventure board a ferry from Bunbeg harbour to Tory or Gola Island. There are numerous golf courses.

But the most popular activity at Macalla Cottage is relaxing in front of the cosy open fire and taking in the worldly charm and romantic atmosphere that this traditional cottage exudes.
