Silvermines Self-Catering - Old Forge 1 and Old Forge 2 are two exceptional yet cosy homes in a lovely village at the foot of the Silvermines Mountains, County Tipperary. Each have two double beds, bathrooms and the best of comforts.

Silvermines Self-Catering cottage, Old Forge 1 and a loft/warehouse apartment Old Forge 2, are set in a courtyard next to the oldest stone house in the village and on the site of the old village forge. On arrival you will be greeted with a welcome basket of food to get you started and your log burner ready to light!

Each home has two generous double bedrooms that comfortably sleeps four in queen size beds, which can be separated to make four large single beds, a cot and high chair are available on request.

Both include a log fire, power showers, heated bathroom floors, 42" Smart TV with cable and Irish channels, DVD player, docking station with radio and CD player, and free WiFi. Board games, cards, DVDs and CDs are available to use.

High quality kitchen with granite worktop, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob, fridge freezer. Laundry facilities, comprising of washing machines, tumble dryers, heated drying racks, sink, hose down area and cold storage are located in the boot room.

There is a private patio and court yard with a BBQ, table and chairs, set in a wildlife woodland garden. There is an organic vegetable patch, from which you are welcome to pick potatoes and other seasonal vegetables for a complimentary meal. This is all set in amazing views of the mountain back drop and countryside.

All water for your services is via a water harvesting system, saving all of the rainwater to recycle back for use.

The Silvermines village has a local pub full of charm and characters. There is a village shop for groceries, artisan breads, and newspapers. There is also a walking trail with a picnic area in the village, along side the stream. The lovely Georgian market town of Nenagh has bars, coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants and a farmers market. Also a Norman Castle, a heritage and genealogy centre to find your ancestors. All this is a 10 minute drive away.

In the surrounding area, there are many wonderful way-marked loop trails for walking and biking. Search www.irishtrails.ie , location- Tipperary and look around the Nenagh area.

There are other outdoor activities, such as horse riding, a mountain bike forest, the stunning Lough Derg for fishing, sailing and other water-sports, golf, tennis, and lots more. The golden sandy beach of Killaloe is 1.30 hours away, which also has a dive centre.

Both homes together sleep 8/10 in total making it a great place for larger gatherings, yet having your own space when you need it.
