Accommodation at The Strand consists of six newly decorated three-star ocean facing rooms each designed with your comfort in mind. The rooms are all ensuite and feature, free Wi-Fi, tea- and coffee-making facilities, orthopaedic bed, TV and hairdryer.
The house popularly known as 'The Strand' is owned by Johnny (the chef) and Caroline Redmond and family. The Redmonds are the fourth generation of a family that have been in the business of catering and hospitality for visitors to Kilkee for practically 160 years.
Join the Redmond family for a relaxing sightseeing trip, or an activity break, in one of the finest restaurants and guesthouses in west Clare. You can relax and unwind on the beautiful Loop Head Peninsula and the guesthouse is right on the beach with spacious guest lounge providing panoramic views of the wild Atlantic Ocean.
The Strand's location in Kilkee, County Clare, is a perfect base for touring the Burren National Park, Aillwee Caves, Cliffs of Moher and Kilkee's own breathtaking Loophead Peninsula. Part of Kilkee life is to spend some time sitting on the Strand Line wall; Percy French is reputed to have got his inspiration for 'The Darling Girl from Clare' while indulging in this Kilkee custom. The Strand Line wall also provides grandstand viewing during those widely renowned race meetings known as 'The Kilkee Strand Races'.
