Yellow Submarine Glamping
Ballybay, Co. Monaghan
  • Self Catering
The Yellow Submarine glamping pod is based in County Monaghan on the shores of the Dromore River. Originally a lifeboat it was lovingly converted by the owner for “George Clarkes amazing spaces” on Channel 4.

Originally starting life as an old free fall lifeboat the submarine has some fascinating features like the opening roof in the dining area or the porthole windows made from washing machine doors. The interior sleeping quarters have a full size double bed and four bunks sleeping six guests in comfort. Fitted sheets and pillows are included, but please bring your own sleeping bags for that camping experience.

The dining area has a double gas hob, a sink and kitchenware. There is a separate toilet out back. Outdoors there is a roofed decking area with a fire pit also. Everything here is off grid, but there is adequate lighting charged by solar panels on the roof.

Situated on the shore of the Dromore River the scenery here is remote and breathtaking. An abundance of wildlife to enjoy with kingfishers is a common sight. The owners also provide a guided canoeing tour on the river.
