Belturbet is located in County Cavan and is built on the banks of the River Erne. It is ideally located between the major lake system of Lough Oughter and Lough Gowna in the south and Upper Lough Erne in the north.

Belturbet is an ideal base for exploring great waters where bream, roach, hybrids, pike, and perch are abundant. When angling along the Erne, take particular note of the Creamery Stretch, which produces good catches of roach.

The Putiaghan Lake, which is located 1.5mi from Belturbet, has a big head of roach and perch, as well as good tench.

Killylea Lake further to the north is connected to the River Erne and has a fine stock of roach.
