Use Castlepark Ferry to explore historic Jamesfort, located opposite Charles Fort. It has a commanding position guarding the small harbour of Kinsale. This fort was built in 1607 and was captured in 1690 by Williamite forces. The fort remains a most interesting example of 17th century military architecture and offers wonderful views of the town, river, harbour and Charles Fort.
Also enjoy Kinsale's only sandy beach, The Dock, or relax with some refreshments at the Dock Bar.
