An overnight success when first performed, Flight is loosely based on the real-life story of an Iranian refugee stranded at Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris for 18 years and his interaction with a group of storm-grounded travellers. The opera unfolds around the different characters who find themselves delayed in the terminal and their interaction with the refugee.

With a vibrant, young ensemble cast of 10 singers, the opera’s reflections on love and identity are presented with winning humour. Though composed 25 years ago, Flight continues to have a compelling relevance today.
