Bringing together works by historic and contemporary artists who have used food as their muse in myriad ways, the exhibition will be organised into three primary sections – BREAD, MEAT and POTATOES – which will be presented as staples in the history of food-focused art, as well as our personal diets throughout the ages.
Visitors will have the opportunity to survey an abundance of food-related artworks produced over the last four centuries, from still lifes, to dining utensils and cookware, to video works and installations that consider the politics and concerns that have shaped perspectives on food right up to our present moment.
