Atlantic Way Sailing offer luxury cruises on our Hanse 53, Atlantic Blue in Galway Bay, operating between Galway city marina, Rossaveal marina (35km west) and the Aran Islands. No experience is required. All weatherproof gear & life jackets supplied.

Atlantic Blue is the biggest passenger sailing yacht in Ireland with 4 double berths and a separate skippers cabin. Each cabin has an ensuite shower and toilet.

With a daytime passenger capacity of 12, and a luxury experience on offer, this attraction is receiving great interest from those seeking a unique and exciting experience at an affordable price.

Cityscape Cruise from Galway Docks Marina:

Enjoy light refreshments during the familiarisation and safety briefing. Sail out of the harbour and into the bay leaving the city behind. Pass the old Claddagh fishing village and Salthill beaches before reaching Margarita shoals (where a coal ship ran aground in the 1970’s).Take in the unique views of the Burrens limestone landscape on the south side of Galway Bay and when we reach close to the cliffs at Silver Strand, make a U turn for home. Total time approx 3 hrs with a minimum of 2 hrs sailing. Capacity 12 people. Departure times vary, subject to tides.

Half day cruise from Rossaveal Marina:

Board Atlantic Blue at 13.00. Meet and greet fellow passengers while enjoying light refreshments. Leave the busy fishing and ferry boat harbour and take a course due south. Motor past the sandy beaches on the Carraroe shore while passing both the old Martello Tower and the old coast guard station on the Rossaveal side. When we reach the mouth of Casla Bay, hoist sails and head out into the Atlantic. Enjoy clear views of the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher in the distance. The views of the 12 Bens mountain range are excellent during the return journey to the marina. Time is approx 5 hrs of which 4 are underway. Capacity 12 people.

Overnight Sailing Cruises to the Aran Islands:

Board the yacht at Rosaveal marina at 1300. Meet and greet fellow passengers while enjoying some light refreshments. Motor out of the harbour past the beaches on Carraroe to the west and the old Martello tower and old coastguard station while passing ferry and fishing trawlers in both directions. At the mouth of Casla Bay, hoist sails and make passage for 11 nautical miles to Kilronan Harbour on Inishmor, the largest of the Aran Islands. Spend the late afternoon exploring the Island including a visit to Dun Aonghus, a 3,000 year old fort on a cliff edge. Dine at a top quality restaurant or enjoy some pub grub before relaxing for a pint or two. Return to the harbour to sleep aboard the yacht. Enjoy a relaxing breakfast on deck before setting sail again for Rossaveal, to arrive before 11.30. Capacity 8 people + upto 4 extras staying in B&Bs on the island.

Day Trip to the Aran Islands from Rossaveal Marina

Board Atlantic Blue at 10:00 from Rossaveal Marina and set sail to Kilronan Harbour on Inis Mor, the largest of the Aran Islands. Artive in Kilronan at 12.30. Spend some time exploring this unique island before boarding Atlantic Blue at 14:00 for the return sail to Rossaveal. Arrive in Rossaveal at 16.30. Light refreshments included at no extra cost.
