Costello and Fermoyle Fishery
Casla, Co. Galway
The Costello and Fermoyle Fishery in County Galway is a premier sea trout and salmon fishery. It is located 40km from Galway city along the South Connemara coast, within a wild and beautiful setting.

Made famous in the book "A Man May Fish" by T. C. Kingsmill-Moore, Costello and Fermoyle fishery offers the fly fisherman a choice of 7 lakes and over 3 miles of river fishing.

The run of grilse begins in June followed by the sea trout in July, providing great sport up to the end of September.

This fishery is made up of the Casla River and a series of lakes, set against the backdrop of the Twelve Pins Mountains. It is quite an extensive area from lakes draining the hills near Oughterard to the sea at Casla.

Boats or fishing stands are provided at all of these. Guided fishing is available, the number of rods is strictly limited, and beats are rotated. Flyfishing only, and no petrol outboards are allowed. The fishing is privately owned by Costello and Fermoyle Fisheries, and visitor permits are available.
