A major new folk musical, written by Amy Day and directed by Anne-Marie O’Sullivan of Enchanted Croi Theatre, tells the stories of friendship, betrayal, eviction and emigration from Roscommon’s Strokestown Estate during the time of the Great Famine. A new original script is augmented by an original contemporary folk music score with images of original Famine documentation and artefacts imaginatively woven into its set and costumes.
Featuring a cast of 14 acclaimed actors and musicians, including renowned trad fiddler Neil FitzGibbon and acclaimed actor Julie Sharkey in the starring role. Made possible with the support of the National Famine Way and the Irish Heritage Trust.
