Home counties of members include Galway, Clare, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim. Five to six meetings are held annually to which expert speakers are invited to discuss-
(1) their research results in the use of public records and archive repositories for tracing family ancestors;
(2) the latest developments in genealogy.
Meetings are open to the general public and are interactive, that is, participants benefit from exchanges of information and ideas with personnel experienced in the use of digitised records and in how to search archive repositories e.g., civil registers, births, deaths, marriages, land tenure records, census data, emigrant ship passenger lists, etc.
