The colourful village of Sneem hosts storytellers, entertainers and patrons from all over the world which have included Hawaii, Denmark, Australia as well as more expected places as Ireland and UK. Visitors of all ages are able to see performances of storytelling, plays, folklore, music and have the chance to tell their own tales at a number of venues such as Sneem Hotel, a barn, church and local hostelries.
The festival is aimed at perpetuating the storytelling culture of Kerry and even has a performance by Young Tellers as a means of introducing school agers to the tradition.
The festival now in its 10th year is a firm favourite with those interested in these traditions and they welcome many patrons time and again. Some events are free.
